The next wave of discontinuous technologies will shape the future
of the software industry. Many of these discontinuous technologies
will emanate from advances in software infrastructure. Previous
breakthroughs included application servers, integration servers,
and portal servers. They gave us the basis for the Internet OS.
What future set of advances will give us the ability to create the
next generation of the Internet?
The objective of this Think Tank Session is to focus on the future
of software infrastructure and the discontinuous technologies affecting
that future. This invitation-only session will convene 20 experts
in the software arena for an interactive exchange of knowledge.
There is no fee to attend. Proceedings will be shared only with
participants. This session is being held at the request of Fujitsu,
one of the Center's Executive Sponsors.
Questions to be addressed at this Think Tank Session include:
- What advances will there be in software infrastructure in the
next 2 - 3 years?
- What discontinuous technologies will arise from these advances
in 3 - 4 years?
- Are there other sources of discontinuous technologies that
will have an impact on software infrastructure?
- What are the implications for middleware of these discontinuous
technologies?
