"Opportunities in
Streaming Media"
THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2002
By Mr. Karl Dahlin
Vice President of Business Development
Roo Networks
Open to the Public. No fee. 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The Pub Talk begins at 6:00 p.m.
For the last several years, the industry has been trying to predict
the next killer application that would be the catalyst to significantly
drive the demand for streaming media. Proponents of digital media
predicted rapid growth of entertainment on the Internet, including
streaming delivery of Hollywood movies that would soon replace brick
and mortar establishments like Blockbuster. While this dream has
yet to be realized, streaming media is beginning to make a significant
impact within the Enterprise as an enabler of corporate communications,
training and eLearning. This Pub talk explores how streaming media
is changing the way companies do business and creating new opportunities
for the tech industry.
