"Data Integration: The Gateway to Life Science Data
and 'In-Silico' Drug Discovery

By Mr. Jeff Edwards
President & Chief Operating Officer

Open to the Public. No fee. 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The Pub Talk begins at 6:00 p.m.

The bottleneck in drug discovery has shifted from data collection to data integration and analysis. In fact, poor data integration is seen as a key factor reducing R&D productivity. Trying to solve the life science data integration problem using traditional IT approaches is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole -- it doesn’t work. At this Pub, come learn how geneticXchange's K1 System is providing a revolutionary way to solve this problem, enabling rapid access to - and integration of - complex, dispersed scientific data. The business results are accelerated time to market, reduced risk, and elimination of a long-standing barrier to the drug discovery process for biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

Jeff Edwards is President and Chief Operating Officer of geneticXchange, the leading provider of data integration solutions for the biotech industry. Mr. Edwards has over 20 years of experience in operations, sales, and marketing in the high-tech industry. He began his career at IBM and has held executive positions with StorageTek and with Hitachi Data Systems, where he built a $100 million business unit as Vice President/General Manager. In addition, executives from Fortune 500 companies such as Computer Associates and AT&T have engaged Mr. Edwards to design various IT-based business models. He holds a BA in business administration with graduate studies at Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in international marketing.

Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, geneticXchange ( provides the only open system data integration platform to help accelerate the drug discovery process. geneticXchange's powerful K1 System software product provides rapid, real-time access to, and integration of, complex dispersed scientific data. World leaders such as the Genome Institute of Singapore and Genomics Collaborative, Inc. leverage the K1 System to help realize the promise of 'in-silico' drug discovery.
