DESCRIPTION
The Pub Talk will focus on how IBM views the data management space.
The presentation will include a discussion on database technologies
(OLTP and OLAP), enterprise information portals (EIP), database
tools, and the recent announcement of IBM's purchase of Informix.
Questions regarding how the acquisition favors IBM and how this
impacts its competitors, including Oracle and Microsoft, will be
addressed by Mr. James.
ABOUT SHAWN K. JAMES
Shawn K. James is the Senior Sales Specialist, Data Management,
Northern California at IBM Corporation. He is responsible for growing
IBM's data management marketshare in the global midmarket business
(GMB) sector. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. James was the Northern California
Sales Manager for Oracle in Los Angles, California.
