VISIT BY THE PRESIDENT OF BULGARIA AND DELEGATION TO THE CENTER

President Petar Stoyanov of Bulgaria honored the Center last week in a visit to learn about the key role the Silicon Valley World Internet Center plays in advancing the global Internet Economy. In a pre-Pub gathering of members of the Center’s Advisory Board, Executive Sponsors, and key associates, the President enjoyed a presentation by the Center’s CEO, Dr. Susan Duggan, on the importance of its Knowledge Network and the need for real collaboration and "coopetition" to move the Internet Economy forward.

The President had arrived in the California to address the topic of a global "digital divide" at the Commonwealth Club in Los Angeles, for meetings at Stanford University, and to tour Silicon Valley, gaining insights about how Bulgaria could best bridge the "digital divide" as Bulgaria increasingly develops its Internet-based economy. The President was joined by his wife, the Bulgarian Ambassador from Washington, D.C., and a 8-member delegation for the first half of the Pub where he networked with technologists, business developers, and investors in the finest spirit of the Valley.
