METIOM NAMED FIRST AFFILIATE SPONSOR OF SILICON VALLEY WORLD INTERNET CENTER

New sponsorship class allows pre-IPO companies to benefit from branding and market exposure.

Palo Alto, CA—September 27, 2000 -- The Silicon Valley World Internet Center (www.worldinternetcenter.com) today named Metiom (www.metiom.com), a New York-based e-Marketplace builder formerly known as Intelisys, to be the Center’s premiere Affiliate Sponsor. Metiom is the first company to take advantage of a new level of sponsorship now available to pre-IPO Internet-related companies. The Center, headquartered in Palo Alto, is a combination think tank, showcase and collaboration facility for the advancement of Internet technologies and markets.

Metiom is a privately held company whose major backers are Chase Manhattan and Forstmann Little. Metiom builds many-to-many e-Marketplaces for large corporate and public sector clients like First Union, Intuit, BHP as well as the State of Maryland and the Multi-State EMall. Last month, Metiom kicked off a $22 million national marketing campaign featuring ads in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune and other major publications.

"Until now, only very large, key companies in the Internet revolution such as IBM, SAP, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard Company, Deutsch Telekom, and Amdocs, Inc. at the $200,000-per-year level could reap the exposure, branding and knowledge exchange benefits of being a sponsor of the Center," said Susan J. Duggan, CEO and co-founder of the Center.

"We've had requests from smaller companies who want to become sponsors but cannot yet allocate $100,000 or $200,000 for the Associate and Executive Sponsorships. With the establishment of the new Affiliate Sponsorship at $25,000 per year, the well-funded start-ups can, for the first time, be seen and heard as innovators and thought leaders of the Internet economy as sponsors of the Center," she said.

"The Silicon Valley World Internet Center is one of the top thought leaders in the technology field today," said Chris Wagner, president and chief executive officer of Metiom. "As the Center’s first affiliate sponsor, we will work with the Center to promote the open exchange of ideas on how the Internet can help small and medium-sized businesses."

Affiliate Sponsorship at the Center provides pre-IPO companies with a suite of features to assist them in branding, knowledge exchange and new market and partner opportunities. These include technology and service demonstrations; exclusive "Pub Talks" to the weekly gathering of more than 100 executives, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs; priority inclusion in Center programs and events; description of company, product and services, with recognition and hyperlinks on the Center website; signage at the Center; recognition in Center publications; and the ability to order custom programming at the Center at a discounted rate.

"We are the only company building easy-to-use e-Marketplaces for millions of small and medium-sized businesses," said Wagner. "We joined the center because we recognized the benefits of keeping in touch with new trends and ideas in the industry."
