CABLE & WIRELESS SHOWCASING EXTRANETS
THAT IMPROVE BUSINESS PROCESSES AT
THE SILICON VALLEY WORLD INTERNET CENTER
February 13, 2002, Palo Alto, Calif. -- Deane McIntyre,
Director of the online channel for Enterprise customers at Cable
& Wireless (C&W) (http://www.cw.com)
will look at how new-world businesses have changed in order to survive
by exploiting core competences, using outsource models and extended
business networks, and how extranets help in this process, at a
Challenge-the-Expert program tonight at the Silicon Valley World
Internet Center (http://www.worldinternetcenter.com)
in Palo Alto.
"By using extranets," says McIntyre, "we can reshape the traditional
service-scape and generate cost-savings and business efficiencies
for all parties through the use of online customer and partner touchpoints."
McIntyre and the attendees will also discuss how to use extranets
to increase knowledge and understanding of customer requirements.
1"Greater customer intimacy is achieved by using Web services
and compelling content to expand and extend reach into customer
organizations beyond traditional expectations," said McIntyre.
The two-hour program will be held at the Center in Palo Alto from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with networking at 5:00 p.m. For the first 45
minutes McIntyre will present C&W's perspective on extranets. For
the rest of the program the attendees will engage the speaker in
dialogue about the topic. There is no fee for this program.
