The world shook
with terror when planes destroyed the twin WTC towers in New York.
The basic computer and communication infrastructure of many companies
in that area were destroyed. But 3 days later, thousands of people
who survived the attacks were on line again. After a few weeks,
it was "business as usual" for most companies. IBM's Business Continuity
and Recovery Services division was one of the key players in this
spectacular recovery. Instead of limiting its services to customers,
the IBM team tried to help all organizations that asked for assistance.
Mr. Todd Gordon is the person who headed the largest and fastest
disaster recovery ever. Mr. Gordon will explain the IBM response
and the lessons learned, both on strategic and technical level.
Mr. Gordon's one-hour presentation will be followed by an interactive
discussion with those in attendance during the second hour.
